On December 26, 2024 around 1:15 pm, the driver of this truck is suspected of being impaired after swerving in traffic on Hwy 17 causing many drivers to reportedly take evasive action before plowing into the side of the Refrigeration and Electric building located at 635 6th St NW.
Thankfully there was nobody inside of the business, although one worker was outside just feet away from the crash. There are no reported injuries. The driver of the truck didn’t do too well with field sobriety tests and was ultimately taken to Winter Haven Hospital to be medically cleared before taking a ride to the Polk County Jail.
