Just before 3:00 p.m. on November 6, 2024 Polk County Fire Rescue, Winter Haven Fire Department and Winter Haven Police Department responded to a bus vs vehicle collision in Winter Haven.
The accident occurred at 2nd Street NW and Avenue D NW in Winter Haven.
One of Polk County’s public transit buses, a Citrus Connection bus was involved in the crash. The other vehicle appeared to be a dark colored SUV.
We reached out to Polk County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Nathaniel Gale, and he confirmed one patient was transported from the scene via ground to a local hospital.
The extent of the patient’s injuries is unknown, though law enforcement classified the crash as minor.
