On Sunday, February 16, 2025, Winter Haven Fire crews battled a brush fire along the WG Roe property in the Ave R and 7th St area in Winter Haven. No buildings were damaged and there were no injuries.
Winter Haven Public Safety Department wants to remind everyone to be extra vigilant during these dry times. Though Winter Haven received a little rain yesterday, conditions are still very dry and fires can start in the dry grass quickly. No outdoor burning, don’t park cars on dry grass and of course, dispose of cigarette butts properly (and not thrown out of windows). We can all do our part to prevent brush fires.
