Looking for a new spot to eat in Winter Haven? Check out Kimber’s Bar & Grill! If you’ve ever wanted to try a fresh place to eat in the Winter Haven area, I’ve got just the spot for you. Kimber’s Bar & Grill is a new addition to the local dining scene, having opened its doors in 2024.
I had the opportunity to meet the owner, Kimber Mellenthin, and hear firsthand what inspired her to start this restaurant. With 19 years of experience as a bartender and a background in helping other restaurants get off the ground, owning her own place had always been her dream.
To turn that dream into a reality, Mrs. Mellenthin and her husband, Burt Mellenthin, started a cleaning company, which they grew and eventually sold. The proceeds from that sale allowed her to purchase and transform the former High Seas Lounge into what is now Kimber’s Bar & Grill.
Mrs. Mellenthin explained that the area where the restaurant is located was already attracting regular clientele, and with the surrounding area continuing to develop, increased traffic flow helped boost the restaurant’s early success. Since opening in 2024, Kimber’s Bar & Grill has already seen a 15% growth in sales—and it looks like it’s only going to continue to grow.
If you’re in the mood for great wings and burgers, Kimber’s has you covered—these are among the most popular items on their menu. What sets them apart from other restaurants in the area, however, are their steaks and kabobs. The steaks are marinated for 24 hours and carefully filleted, delivering a flavor-packed and tender experience.
Beyond the food, Kimber’s is also a hub for entertainment. Live music is featured every Friday night, and karaoke takes over the stage on Saturdays, making it a fun place to hang out. They’ve even hosted events for organizations like Culpepper’s Cardiac Foundation and St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
Sports fans will feel right at home too, with 26 TVs spread throughout the restaurant. No matter where you sit, you’ll be able to catch your favorite game and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
