Frances Katherine Money

OCTOBER 17, 1941 – SEPTEMBER 15, 2025

Frances Katherine Rowlett Money, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 15, 2025.

Frances was born in Guy, Arkansas, to Roy Bruce Rowlett and Hermie E. Rowlett. Though her roots began in Arkansas, she made Florida her home for the past 55 years, where she grew to love the beauty of old Florida citrus groves and cattle country. She also treasured the pristine waters of Florida, finding peace and tranquility along the gulf coast.

A woman of deep faith, Frances was a devoted member of the Lake Gibson Church of Christ in Lakeland, Florida. She found purpose and joy in serving her congregation, participating in Ladies’ Bible Study, and spending time encouraging and helping others. Her kindness, generosity, and steadfast spirit left an impression on all who knew her.

Frances was a talented cosmetologist and entrepreneur, owning and operating salons across Central Florida. She touched countless lives through her creativity, warmth, and dedication to her clients.

Frances was also an avid reader who spent much of her time learning, studying, and enjoying books. This lifelong love of reading reflected her curiosity, thoughtfulness, and appreciation for knowledge.

Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She is survived by her children, Shelly P. Horton (husband Leon Carter) of Arkansas, Michael B. Horton of Texas, and Carmen K. “Cookie” Horton of Florida; her grandchildren, Bradley Stevenson, Rusty Carter, Keely D. Anderson, Mariah Horton Egusquiza, and Makiah Horton Flake; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Haze, Brandt, Hannah, Cora and Baby E. She was blessed to share many years with Lee Daniel Money, whose unending love and companionship brought her great joy. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jerry B. Rowlett.

She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her faith-filled life, and the countless ways she nurtured and supported her family and community.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 W. Central Ave., Winter Haven, FL 33880.
