On Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, solemn pride filled the grounds of the Florida State Fire College in Ocala as communities from across the state gathered for the Florida Fallen Firefighter Memorial. The ceremony serves as a powerful reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication shown by firefighters who gave their lives in the line of duty.

This year’s service featured the traditional tributes that define the fire service’s highest honors. Honor guards and pipe-and-drum units led a dignified procession, followed by the presentation of memorial medallions and flags to the families of the fallen. A bell-ringing ceremony—the time-honored “Last Alarm”—paid tribute to each hero. Nine new names were formally added to the memorial tablets, ensuring their legacy endures for generations.

Among those participating in the week-long Honor Guard observances was Officer Murry “Bo” Outlaw, who represented Winter Haven with distinction. His presence underscored the unity and shared commitment that binds Florida’s fire service community.

The ceremony offered a poignant reminder: while these firefighters may be gone, their bravery continues to inspire the communities they served and protected.
