The Winter Haven Police Department is inviting the community to lace up their running shoes and take part in the 13th Annual WHPD 5K, set for March 14, 2026.
This annual event brings runners, walkers, and families together for a great cause, with all proceeds benefiting Special Olympics Florida. Participants of all fitness levels are encouraged to join, knowing that every step taken helps support athletes across the state.
Those who cross the finish line will receive a special finisher medal, and organizers say this year’s medal design is one participants won’t want to miss.
Registration is now open, and community members are encouraged to sign up early and be part of this meaningful and energetic event.

“This event is rain or shine. There will be no refunds issued for registered participants who do not come to the event. If you are unable to attend, you will still be able to pick up your shirt and finisher medal at the police department after the event (we will just swap your category to VIRTUAL).”
