Starting on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Free Shredding and Prescription Pill drop off event, the Winter Haven Police Department will begin a giveaway of gun locks to ensure our citizens have the proper security for their guns at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Educating the community on firearm storage safety is the main priority for this campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s important that we get as much information out about how to properly secure your firearms,” said Police Chief David Brannan. “To minimize a child getting hurt is paramount in our dedication to this campaign.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This simple piece of equipment can minimize a firearm being used in a very tragic situation. Firearm ownership is a huge responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kick-off event will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Winter Haven Police Department, located at 125 N. Lake Silver Dr., NW in Winter Haven from 10:00 am – 2 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you can’t make it out to this event, starting Monday, April 29, you can visit the Winter Haven Police Department, Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 p.m. to obtain a free gun lock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
