LAKELAND, Fla<\/strong>. \u2014 More than 140 registered youth athletes, plus dozens of additional day-of participants, filled Peterson Park on February 7 for the annual Evan Michael Chambers Baseball & Softball Camp, creating an unforgettable day centered on growth, mentorship, and love for the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by R2Cares in partnership with the Evan Michael Chambers L.O.V.E. Foundation, the camp welcomed boys and girls ages 5\u201312 for a high-energy experience designed to develop not only athletic skills but confidence, leadership, and mental resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From the opening drills to the final rotations, the turnout reflected strong community support and a shared commitment to investing in the next generation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Powerful Mentorship Chain<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most impactful elements of the day was the layered mentorship model that brought together athletes from every level of the sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional players mentored collegiate athletes.
Collegiate athletes mentored high school players.
High school players mentored and trained the youth participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At every level, leaders stepped up to guide, teach, and encourage. The structure created a visible pipeline of development, showing young athletes what\u2019s possible while reinforcing the responsibility of giving back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organizers emphasized that the camp was about more than mechanics and fundamentals. Mental health and mindset were intentionally woven into the experience. Coaches and mentors reinforced the importance of self-awareness, discipline, teamwork, and enjoying the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
