Funding will be provided through a $50,000 Business Development Grant for facility improvements that were received on Feb. 27, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Winter Haven Regional Airport terminal, built in 2008, is in need of interior rehabilitation,&#8221; wrote CJ Scott, Chief Financial Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The existing carpet is heavily stained in several areas and exhibits significant wear and age, making replacement necessary,&#8221; he further explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">The ordinance would approve a budget amendment required for the additional expenditure and funding source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Resurfacing at Chain of Lakes Park<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">City Commissioners also approved the second reading of an ordinance approving a budget amendment to facilitate resurfacing at the Chain of Lakes Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">Approximately $110,000 will be transferred from the City&#8217;s general fund to the construction fund for a proposed change order of $209,914.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">That change order will go toward the installation of an additional parking lot on the southwest side of Chain of Lakes Park, along with the resurfacing of the northwest parking lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;The Fieldhouse\u2019s northwest parking lot has not been resurfaced in more than 20 years,&#8221; wrote CJ Scott, Chief Financial Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"MsoNormal wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;&#8220;Due to cost savings realized within the Chain of Lakes Park Phase II project, along with savings in the Parks and Recreation operating budget, there is an opportunity to engage the existing contractor, Rodda Construction, to complete the resurfacing while they remain mobilized on site,&#8221; he further explained.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"696\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=696%2C696&#038;ssl=1\" class=\"wp-image-81522\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=1024%2C1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=300%2C300&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=150%2C150&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=1536%2C1536&amp;ssl=1 1536w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.winterhavendaily.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/img_3877.jpg?resize=2048%2C2048&amp;ssl=1 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 696px) 100vw, 696px\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Duplex Planned For Newly-Rezoned Property, Less Than One Acre, Along Avenue H SW by James Coulter A new duplex is planned for one of two 50-foot-wide parcels now that the property has been rezoned to accommodate the proposed construction.
