Winter Haven – Emergency crews responded to a workplace injury at Arabellas on Central Avenue early Monday afternoon (December 1, 2025) after a female employee became trapped in a piece of kitchen equipment.

According to Winter Haven Public Safety’s PIO Jamie Brown and the battalion chief, the worker caught two fingers in a press, with the equipment clamping down up to the first knuckle. Despite the painful injury, officials say she remained alert, talking, and able to walk.

Paramedics transported her to the hospital with part of the machine still attached, allowing medical staff to safely remove the device without causing further damage.

Units MD229 and WHSQ1 were dispatched to the scene at Arabellas, located at 346 Central Ave W in downtown Winter Haven, with additional support clearing shortly after.

No updates on her condition were immediately available, but authorities report she was stable during transport.
