WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – One person was hospitalized Monday after a shooting in a Winter Haven neighborhood, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.
Police responded to the area of 9th Court NE and Ware Avenue NE after receiving reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they determined that two individuals had been involved in an altercation that escalated, resulting in one person being shot.
The victim suffered injuries that police described as non-life-threatening and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities emphasized that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident and that there is no ongoing danger to the public.
The investigation remains active, and investigators are continuing to gather information about what led to the altercation.
