On December 4, 2024 Polk County Fire Rescue and Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Duff Road and Kathleen Road in Lakeland. The initial 911 call came in just before 1:00 p.m.
Meghan Petty, Polk County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer advised two vehicles were involved in the crash: White Hyundai and Silver Subaru.
Callers reported an elderly person was possibly injured and a child was involved, but not injured.
At this time, law-enforcement cannot confirm what caused the collision.
We reached out to Polk County Fire Rescue Public Information Officer Nathaniel Gale, and the confirmed two patients were transported to a local hospital via ground.
The extent of the patients’ injuries is unknown, however, Petty did advise that it doesn’t appear to be serious bodily injury for either patient.
As of 2:30 p.m., the roadway is clear.
