Winter Haven Public Safety Department:
Winter Haven Public Safety announces a new school zone to accommodate the location change of Language & Literacy Academy For Learning. The school, which was previously located on Ave. C SE has moved to 50 2nd St SE at the corner of Ave. A SE and 2nd St SE in Winter Haven.
This change involves a new school zone that begins for drivers exiting 1st St S. onto Ave. A SE and continues past the school and blends with the school zone for Denison Middle School at 4th St SE. The school zone times are Monday – Friday, 7:30 – 8:15 a.m. and 2:30 – 3:15 p.m.
The area of Ave. A SE and 2nd St. SE has been experiencing short delays as the cars que to enter the school property to drop off and pick students up from school. Drivers who have an option should consider a different route around the area during the school zone times to help alleviate additional traffic.
