A tragic accident early Saturday morning claimed the life of a 35-year-old Winter Haven woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on December 6, 2025, at approximately 12:40 a.m. along eastbound I-4 near the 43-mile marker. Troopers say a 27-year-old man from Portland, Oregon, was driving a Toyota Corolla when a pedestrian attempted to walk across the interstate and entered the vehicle’s path. The driver was unable to avoid her, and she was struck.
Following the initial impact, the woman was hit a second time by an unidentified vehicle that continued traveling eastbound without stopping. That vehicle has not yet been identified.
The pedestrian died at the scene from her injuries.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate.
