The following is a press release from PCSO:
“The PCSO Traffic Homicide Investigations Unit is investigating a multiple vehicle crash that resulted in the death of a motorcyclist. The crash occurred on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at approximately 7:09 p.m. and spread out over multiple locations near the intersection of 3rd St SW and Ave G SW in Winter Haven.
Evidence and witness statements indicate that a 2025 Nissan rogue was travelling northbound on 3rd street SW. The driver of the Nissan attempted to change to the inside lane in front of a 2020 Ford truck when the rear of the Nissan contacted the front bumper of the truck. The driver of the truck stated that he watched the Nissan then enter the median and cross over into the southbound lanes onto oncoming traffic. At the same time, 23‑year‑old Bryson Love was traveling southbound on a motorcycle in the inside lane. The Nissan and motorcycle collided head‑on, causing Love to be ejected. He came to rest in the roadway and sustained fatal injuries. Love was wearing a helmet.
The Nissan continued north bound and struck curbs and traveled over shoulders before reaching the intersection of Avenue C SW, where it crossed onto the shoulder and made low‑speed contact with a 2022 BMW. The BMW sustained minor damage, and its driver was not injured. The Nissan driver later stated this was the point at which her vehicle “rolled to a stop.”
Multiple people made contact with the Nissan driver. The video shows her exiting the vehicle, clearly distraught and immediately requesting law enforcement to be called.
All victims were wearing their seatbelts. Airbags did deploy in the Nissan from the first impact. Upon arrival of first responders, it was immediately apparent that Love had sustained extensive traumatic head and body trauma and his condition was dire. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The Nissan driver was also taken to a local hospital due to slightly elevated blood pressure and neck pain and was medically cleared. The other drivers were not injured.
During an interview, the Nissan driver stated she was returning home from church and had recently turned onto 3rd Street SW when she felt a “bump” and lost control of her vehicle. She displayed no signs of impairment during a DUI screening and has no criminal or adverse driving history.
The investigation remains ongoing.”
