Dustin Lyle, owner of The Lake House Kitchen, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “We believe in giving back to our community by paying it forward, because every life saved and every family supported through hard times creates a ripple of hope that carries on to others.” Lyle, who has operated The Lake House Kitchen for one year at The Bowen Yard, is a dedicated community member, managing six businesses in that contribute to local growth and engagement.

The event, held at The Bowen Yard, celebrated the Culpepper Cardiac Foundation’s mission, led by founder Melanie Brown Culpepper Beilke. Lyle, Melanie’s nephew, shared a personal perspective: “She’s my aunt, and I’ve witnessed her endure incredibly difficult times with her late husband and his many medical challenges. After losing him to cardiac arrest, she was determined to turn her pain into purpose.” He emphasized the foundation’s core goal, noting, “The foundation’s mission is simple: if even one AED saves a life, then it has fulfilled its purpose.”

The Culpepper Cardiac Foundation has been instrumental in placing AEDs throughout the community, with the 75th AED marking a significant milestone in their efforts to prevent sudden cardiac arrest tragedies. The “Pay It Forward” initiative, supported by businesses like The Lake House Kitchen, amplifies this mission by fostering community solidarity and ensuring more lives can be saved.
