Residents in Winter Haven will have an opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted items during an upcoming community event hosted by the City of Winter Haven Public Safety.
The “Purge Your Pills & Shred Your Stuff” event is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will take place in the parking lot of the Winter Haven Police Department, located at 125 N Lake Silver Dr. NW.
This free event is designed to help residents responsibly clear out their homes by offering two key services:
Medication disposal: Safely turn in expired, unused, or unwanted medications, including pet medications Document shredding: Protect your identity with free on-site paper shredding services
Officials encourage community members to take advantage of this convenient and environmentally friendly way to dispose of sensitive materials and medications that could otherwise pose safety risks.
The event is open to the public and aims to promote both public safety and personal security within the community.
