Infant Found Unresponsive in Vehicle, Rushed to Hospital in Winter Haven

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — An infant was transported to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after being left inside a vehicle, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.

Public Information Officer Jamie Brown said the incident occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Avenue N NW in Winter Haven.

Winter Haven Police officers and fire personnel responded to the residence and located an infant inside a vehicle. It remains unclear how long the child had been inside the car.

Upon arrival, first responders immediately began life-saving measures before transporting the infant to a local hospital.

At this time, the child’s condition has not been released.

The high temperature in the area on Tuesday was listed at 85 degrees. Daily Ridge reporters also noted temperatures inside a vehicle in direct sunlight reached approximately 100 degrees during the afternoon.

Additional information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
