Jerry Wayne Coots Sr., 66, of Lake Alfred, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026.

Jerry was a devoted husband, father, “PawPaw,” and friend whose presence brought comfort and strength to those around him. He built a life centered on family and hard work.

A skilled auto mechanic by trade, Jerry took great pride in his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was known by all who knew him as a kind, loyal, and hardworking man whose character was defined by his dedication to those he loved.

Outside of work, Jerry enjoyed spending time fishing and watching a good western. Whether he was casting a line or spending time with family, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents and 12 siblings.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Catherine Coots; his daughter, Elizabeth Petko and her husband Kyle; his son, Jerry Coots Jr., and his wife Katrina; his sister, Hope Meeks and her husband Ricky, and four cherished grandchildren.

Jerry’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the values he demonstrated every day. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, humorous nature, and unwavering love for his family. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.

The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00am on June 23, 2026, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Winter Haven. Services will follow immediately. Interment will be at Auburndale Memorial Park.
