Have a Heart! Save a Heart! At Saving Lives Matter this Saturday at Tanner’s Lakeside
by James Coulter
Hurricane Milton may have forced its fundraiser to be postponed one month later, but Culpepper’s Cardiac Foundation is ready to raise proceeds for a good cause–and at the start of the holiday season, no less!
CCF will be hosting its annual fundraiser Saving Lives Matter on Sat. Nov. 30 at Tanners Lakeside in Winter Haven. The event will include live musical performances, raffle prizes, and bounce houses.
Proceeds from the event will go toward installing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) across Polk County. Since its inception, CCF has donated more than 55 AEDs to local businesses, eateries, and establishments.
Performances will be held by local musicians and bands including Jim N Judy Duo, Korey Ketchum, Mickenzie, Twizted, and Spankin’ Sadie, with local musician Joey Foley serving as the master of ceremony.
Foley has enjoyed an illustrious career as a performer for more than 40 years. He started performing in a clogging group before eventually going solo and performing country music across the state and even country at venues like Gatlinburg and Nashville, Tennessee.
Foley has participated in many fundraisers with CFF Founder, Melanie Brown Culpepper. He appreciates her willingness to help anybody and everybody in need. As such, he is more than honored to assist her with her annual fundraiser.
“My involvement with Melanie has been a blessing,” he said. “She is quite the go-getter. She keeps moving. She keeps motivating me. And she keeps me motivated as well. What got me interested in assisting her is that she is interested in helping other people. It ain’t about her. It is about helping other people who need help.”
Saving Lives Matter will be hosted on Sat. Nov. 30 from 11 AM to 7 PM at Tanner’s Lakeside, located at 1006 S Lake Howard Dr. in Winter Haven. For more info, visit their Facebook page at: facebook.com/honoringculpepper
