Special weather statement issued by National Weather Service Tampa Bay Ruskin Fl affecting Polk:
Satellite imagery and surface observations indicate patchy areas of dense fog are developing across sections of West Central Florida, and may affect sections of Southwest Florida later this morning. Visibilities may be reduced to 1/4 mile or less at times in localized areas. Motorists should be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Use low beam headlights, reduce your speed, and maintain a safe distance between your vehicle and the one ahead of you.
