Early Thursday morning at approximately 12:30 a.m. Winter Haven Police and Winter Haven Fire responded to 326 Ave C SW in Winter Haven where a truck reportedly struck the side of a building.
When officers arrived they found 31 year-old Brandon Alan Fipp of Winter Haven climbing out of the sunroof of his crashed truck.
According to witnesses, Fipp had been traveling on 3rd St SW through downtown Winter Haven spinning his tires and driving erratically. As he turned onto Ave C SW, Fipp began to lose control and as he attempted to correct a spin, he plowed into the side of the building at Bowen Yard where the SoCe Market is located.
Fipp, who refused to cooperate with the investigation, was transported to the hospital for treatment. Once released, he will be booked into the Polk County Jail for Reckless Driving, Refusal to Submit to DUI Tests (indicators present) Refusal to Sign a Traffic Citation and Violation of Probation (Domestic Battery by Strangulation).
