Ruth “Jerrie” Butler

Ruth “Jerrie” Butler passed away May 31, 2026. She was born to Thelma and Lewis Mullis in Charlotte, NC on June 15, 1938.

Jerrie married Don Owens following high school graduation and had two children Debbie and Donnie Owens. In Charlotte she worked reservations for Easter Airlines, and at the Charlotte Merchandising Mart, sparking her interest in travel and fashion. In 1972 the family moved to Winter Haven, Florida where she became owner of The Four Seasons Travel Agency. In addition to travel, Jerrie enjoyed singing with the “Sassy Singers”, playing bridge and golf.

Later in life, she re-married Donald Butler and they moved to Greenwood, SC. Both were members of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenwood and avid golfers. 

Jerriw preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and Lewis Mullis; Don Owens and Donald Butler. She is survived by Debbie and Donnie; sister, Carole Hicks; granddaughter, Kayla Owens; Drew Butler and Donna Williams and the entire Butler family.

The family wishes to thank Good Shepherd Hospice, Home Instead, Life Care Nursing, Astoria Assisted Living and the many wonderful caregivers for their constant loving care.
