Polk County Sheriff’s Office – PCSO Deputy Goolsby responded to a wildlife call with his Deputy Trainee Gonzalez-Gomez Wednesday evening (Sept 4) in the Dees Road/US 98 area of Lakeland.

When deputies got there, they captured a young gator who had been hiding under a family’s vehicle in their driveway.

Deputy Goolsby reported that this was his trainee’s first alligator arrest.

The family was pleased, the gator was not.

The alligator was unharmed, and released in Lake Gibson. The actual lake, not the school.
